River Mead School is a thriving single form entry primary school with a Nursery, and a recent ‘Good’ Ofsted. River Mead School is part of The Mead Academy Trust and offers an exceptional learning environment with outstanding resources including a specialist music room, and group rooms. There are protected play areas and a large Multi-Use Games Area with AstroTurf, these areas continue to be developed to provide fantastic outdoor learning opportunities; we also have chickens and other nurture pets.

The EYFS building is large, spacious and airy, with opportunities to access an outdoor area. All of the children are very much part of the school from the age of 2 and the EYFS Unit operates at times as a free-flow cohesive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be willing to teach, as well as lead and manage the staff in the setting, with the support of experienced practitioners. The ideal candidate will work closely with the school and Trust Senior leadership team.

We believe that children only get one chance to experience childhood and that they have an absolute right to the highest quality of education.  

For this position you will need to be;

  • Available for Easter or September 2020
  • An individual who is committed to planning an holistic approach to the curriculum and ensuring high attainment levels through using the “Development Matters” framework as guidance
  • Currently an EYFS Leader or aspiring leader who has recently taught in the EYFS
  • Passionate about improving learning opportunities for all children within a creative curriculum
  • Able to form positive relationships and foster the characteristics of effective learning
  • Committed to valuing and supporting the development of each child
  • Motivated to develop their skills to support highly effective learning
  • Flexible, with a strong commitment to teamwork
  • Energetic and enthusiastic with a good sense of humour
  • Willing to teach Read, Write Inc & Talk4Writing strategies
