Over 200 people filled Trowbridge Town Hall on Thursday (27th April) to celebrate the varied artistic talents of The Mead’s pupils. Parents and pupils watched on proudly as current pupils and our alumni showed off their acting, singing, dancing and artwork across three rooms in the town hall.

Our Chair of Governors, Mel Jacob, organised the event and was thrilled by the turnout and the overall success of the gala. She said:

We have themed years at the school every year and this year the theme is art. Last year we held a sports themed gala at the rugby club to tie in with our sport theme and it was so popular people said we should do one for the arts this year. It was a fantastic evening and all of the pupils did so well. Lots of them were very nervous before performing but you wouldn’t have thought it when they got up there.

To finish the evening pupils, parents and teachers congregated around the grand piano to sing a rendition of Thank You For The Music, with music teacher Pam Jolley on piano-playing duty. The Wiltshire Times wrote up a lovely piece on the whole evening, which you can read here.
