Role overview
Castle Mead School is a vibrant school with 373 children on roll, including a Nursery for 2-4 year olds and a Complex Needs Resource Base for children with specialist additional needs. The school is continuing to grow, and has a vacancy for an energetic and resourceful Administration Assistant to join the business services team from early 2023. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for parents and visitors to the school. As such, you will need to be someone who is:

• Competent in all aspects of Microsoft Office, including SharePoint
• Someone who possesses excellent inter-personal skills as you will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors and the general public

The main duties of the role are to:
• Welcome visitors to the school, ensuring signing in procedures are followed
• Receive and prioritise incoming telephone calls, and deal with them appropriately
• Liaise with staff, Academy Advisors, pupils, parents and outside agencies as directed
• Send online parental communications
• Ensure registers are accurate and support attendance management
• Input information on the school's system (Arbor) or pupil records and ensure all records are maintained and up to date
• Set up payments on the parent portal as required
• Assist in the production of reports, lists and other information relating to pupils' records, including attendance
• Manage sports trips and music lessons
• Manage school milk and school lunch administration
• Manage the administration of school-led clubs
• Support Admissions and prepare the prospectus
• Prepare and issue the school newsletter
• Undertake word processing and photocopying of correspondence, standard letters, reports, publications and other documents
• Manage the school diary
• Provide cover to other sites if required
