Vacancy: Assistant School Cook
• Support all aspects of food preparation, cooking and serving of meals
• Ensure the health and safety of the kitchens is maintained, following routines and monitoring food hygiene and food safety to ensure high standards are achieved
• Support the School Cook to produce food that meets the needs of the children
• Work as part of the catering team to prepare, cook and serve the numbers of meals required on a daily basis, taking responsibility for food preparation as directed by the School Cook
• Help prepare the hall for dining, including setting up tables and clearing away afterwards
• Clean and sanitise all work areas, as well as wash up
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
• Be inclusive, passionate, and principled. These are our Trust core principles, and everyone who works for us embodies these in their own unique way
• Have experience of cooking in either a school or other professional environment
• Have an understanding of Health & Safety requirements and food hygiene
• Have either a formal qualification in catering or relevant experience
• Have an understanding of food hygiene requirements, and ideally a Food Hygiene certificate
• Be happy to work in a team, as well as being able to use your own initiative
• Be trained in First Aid, or willing to undertake training

This role will involve contact with children and the post holder will be engaged in regulated activity relevant to children and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed.
