The Mead Trust is inclusive, passionate, and principled. We collaborate decisively and learn together. We work with mutual respect, honesty and humility, and we expect every member of our community to be kind, curious, courageous. With three schools across four sites in Trowbridge and Melksham, our mission is to launch interests and ignite passions through inspirational learning for all. We ensure our schools are places where:
• All children are happy and safe, motivated to reach their full potential and equipped to become resilient, independent learners
• Children are prepared to live responsibly and peacefully in the spirit of understanding, tolerance, equality and friendship
• Everyone’s achievements are maximised and celebrated
• Excellence is the expectation
• All individuals are valued

Our children benefit from an exciting and engaging curriculum which has been developed to ensure that learning is sequenced in a logical and progressive way and is built upon a range of high-quality children’s texts.

We would like to invite Class Teachers who share our values and ethos to apply to join our teaching team from September 2023. We welcome applications from those seeking their first teaching post, as well as those with teaching experience who are ready for a new challenge. We pride ourselves on our comprehensive induction process and delivering meaningful, ongoing professional development to all our staff. We will invest in, and support, the teachers that are the right fit for our schools and children, as we believe strongly that it’s much more about attitude and approach than it is about experience.

To be successful and thrive in our community, you will need to be a qualified teacher who is:
• Passionate about providing memorable learning opportunities for all children within a creative and inspiring curriculum
• Dedicated to our children, with a belief that all children can succeed
• An excellent communicator with fantastic interpersonal skills
• Enthusiastic, innovative, creative and caring
• Committed to raising standards through excellent teaching and learning
• Able to work effectively within a talented and friendly team on whole school issues
• A confident practitioner, who demonstrates outstanding classroom practice and high expectations of achievement and behaviour

The Mead School has two sites on either side of Trowbridge - one in Hilperton and one in Wingfield. Castle Mead School is also in Trowbridge, and River Mead School is in Melksham. All of our schools are graded as Good by Ofsted and each are individual learning communities, their differences valued. Visits to our schools are warmly welcomed, and please let us know on your application if you would prefer to work at a particular school.
Please refer to the candidate brief for details on how to apply for this role.
We warmly welcome visits to our schools - if you would like to visit us please email hello@themeadtrust.org so that we can arrange this.
