Core hours 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday-Friday, term time only (including TD Days)
Plus 1 hour planning 3.30-4.30 Thursdays
Plus 2 additional hours a week beyond the end of the school day – day/s to be agreed
Location
The role is based at the school’s Hilperton site, but regular travel to the Wingfield site will be required, as this role supports children and families at both locations.
Role overview
Mr Stenton, Headteacher, and his Inclusion Team wish to appoint a Parent Support Advisor (with Teaching Assistant responsibilities) to join the dedicated, passionate team at The Mead Primary School from January 2022. Mr Stenton welcomes applications from individuals who are:
• Already in a Parent Support Advisor role or similar role in another type of setting
• Experienced in safeguarding support
• And those who are experienced Teaching Assistants and ready to take the next step in their careers by stepping into a PSA position.

The role is based at the school’s Hilperton site, but regular travel to the Wingfield site will be required, as this role supports children and families at both locations.

The school would love to hear from candidates who are:
• Able to work purposefully and collaboratively with children, young people and families
• Well organised and able to work co-operatively with other professionals, including schools, Children's Services teams and voluntary sector organisations
• Able to lead meetings effectively and follow up on agreed actions in a timely manner
• Experienced in successfully reaching families and communities that are less likely to access services
• Experienced in providing advice, information and guidance to all families within our school community
• Passionate about improving learning opportunities for all children within a creative curriculum
• Able to form positive relationships and foster the characteristics of effective learning
• Committed to valuing and supporting the development of each child
• Flexible, enthusiastic and energetic, with a strong commitment to teamwork
• Trained in First Aid, or willing to undertake training
• Confident in the use of IT, including Word, Smart boards and the internet
• Able to communicate well both verbally and in writing with children and adults alike
• Qualified in NVQ Level 3 in Teaching and Learning, or equivalent relevant qualification
• Willing to undertake training relevant to the role
