We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic, talented and appropriately experienced/qualified Senior Teacher to work at The Mead Primary School. The Mead is a happy, vibrant place where children are enabled to dream, strive, achieve and celebrate. It is situated across two sites on the outskirts of Trowbridge – the larger site in Hilperton has 14 classes and a nursery; the smaller site in Wingfield village has three classes and a nursery. The friendly, energetic and professional staff work together to maintain the happy, popular school community. They take pride in offering a rich and vibrant curriculum with specialist teachers in art, music and PE. With particular strengths in the arts, music and personal development, the school takes great pride in its wider curriculum and the range of enrichment opportunities on offer to children.

We are looking for a suitably experienced qualified teacher who is:
• Inclusive, passionate, and principled. These are our Trust core principles, and everyone who works for us embodies these in their own unique way
• Passionate about providing memorable learning opportunities for all children within a creative and inspiring curriculum
• Dedicated to, and has high expectations of, children with a belief that all children can succeed
• An excellent communicator with fantastic interpersonal skills
• Innovative, creative and forward thinking, and committed to their own professional development and learning
• Committed to raising standards through excellent teaching and learning
• Able to work effectively within a talented and friendly team on whole school issues
• Looking to become part of an inclusive and collaborative Trust
• A confident practitioner, who demonstrates outstanding classroom practice and high expectations of achievement and behaviour
• Enthusiastic, energetic, warm and caring
• Ready to develop their leadership potential with TLR level accountability and responsibility

This is a Senior Teacher position with the following roles and responsibilities:
• Be part of the extended Strategic Leadership Team of the school, working closely with the Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher/SENCO, as well as senior Subject Leaders and the Deputy Headteachers
• Lead PE for the school and Trust whilst also being responsible for the delivery of the highest quality primary PE teaching across our Hilperton site (and overseeing PE teaching at our Wingfield site), plus:

o Leading on engagement in sports partnership and inter-school fixtures

o Chairing the Sports Council

o Ensuring play leaders are trained and well-deployed to support daily physical activity

o Leading the development and implementation of our outdoor and adventurous curriculum

• Lead on the wider personal development curriculum and support the Subject Lead for PSHE/RSE
• Be a lead practitioner in our Inclusion Curriculum team, working closely with our Assistant Headteacher/SENCO to lead, develop, coach and deliver a range of interventions to support SEMH needs
• Lead on the play curriculum for the school, including play-times, nurtured play and the wrap around care curriculum before and after school
• Delivery of some class teaching when not delivering PE or supporting whole school leadership and inclusion
