Teaching Assistant: 28.5 hours per week (8.45am – 3.15pm Monday to Friday plus additional hour planning and preparation time from 3.30pm – 4.30pm on a Thursday)
MDSA: 2.5 hours per week
39 weeks per year


Grade D – Grade E (£9.81 – £10.21 per hour) depending on qualifications and experience    

Role overview:

The Mead Primary School is part of The Mead Academy Trust. It is an exciting and rewarding place to work. We are a two form entry school with an onsite nursery. We offer an exceptional learning environment, with outstanding resources. The building also offers a music and technology room, and group rooms. There are extensive grounds and protected play spaces which provide a fantastic outdoor learning environment.

As part of The Mead Academy Trust we have close links with the Mead Teaching School providing numerous opportunities for exceptional professional development.

We believe that children only get one chance to experience childhood and that they have an absolute right to the highest quality of education. We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a temporary contract until August 2021 to work in our Lower Key Stage 2 classes.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a track record of shaping practice around the following principles:

  • Committed to ongoing professional development
  • Able to support teachers’ liaison and meetings with professionals
  • Qualified in NVQ Level 2 in Teaching and Learning, or higher

Ideally the successful candidate will have:

  • Experience and interest in successfully working with children
  • NVQ Level 3 in Teaching and Learning
