Teaching Assistant: 28.5 hours a week 8.45am – 3.15pm (4.30pm on a Thursday for planning meeting), 39 weeks per year

MDSA: 2.5 hours a week, 38 weeks a year

Salary:

Grade D £18,426 – Grade E £19,945 pro rata depending on experience and qualifications

Role overview:

Castle Mead School is growing, and is looking for permanent, full time Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team. The school offers staff and children an exceptional learning environment with outstanding resources, including specialist music rooms, intervention spaces, and extensive outdoor play areas which continue to be developed to provide fantastic outdoor spaces. There is a purpose-built Nursery on site which caters for up to 36 children from 2- 4 years old during term time, and a Complex Needs Resource Base supporting 28 children.

The school’s Senior Leadership Team want to appoint enthusiastic, skilled and committed Teaching Assistants and would love to hear from applicants who are:

  • Passionate about improving learning opportunities for all children within a creative curriculum
  • Able to form positive relationships and foster the characteristics of effective learning
  • Committed to valuing and supporting the development of each child
  • Motivated to develop their skills to support highly effective learning
  • Flexible, with a strong commitment to teamwork
  • Energetic and enthusiastic with a good sense of humour
  • Trained in First Aid, or willing to undertake training
  • Confident in the use of basic IT including Word, Smart boards and the internet
  • Able to communicate well both verbally and in writing with children and adults alike
