Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8.45am – 3.15pm
Thursday 8.45am – 4.30pm


Grade D5 (£18,795) – E7 (£19,554) depending on experience and qualifications                

Role overview:

We are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants to support our teaching teams. You will initially be based at Castle Mead School working as part of the team in our energetic setting. You will help ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times and act as a responsible carer.   

We are seeking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to work within the Resource base at Castle Mead School.

We are looking for someone who is excited about joining our hugely committed and motivated team and passionate about working in our school. We always look for people who are devoted to providing the best possible education for our children.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a track record of shaping practice around the following principles:

  • Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences to their individual needs respond
  • There is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers

  • Able to support teachers’ liaison and meetings with professionals

Ideally the successful candidate will have:

  • Passionate about improving learning opportunities for children with complex needs
  • Experience of creating and delivering highly bespoke curriculum and skilled at using a range of strategies for complex needs including ASD
  • An experienced Teaching Assistants with SEN knowledge and practise evidenced within an educational environment
  • A strong motivation to support children with additional and complex needs
  • Experience and interest in successfully working with children with complex needs and within a specialist learning environment
  • NVQ or any other relevant qualification
