Merger consultation

Following a series of meetings involving Paul Skipp (CEO of Equa MAT), Lyssy Bolton (CEO of The Mead Trust) and both Trust Boards, there has been an agreement in principle to explore a potential merger of the two trusts.

We believe there is considerable synergy between our Trusts; discussions are at an early stage and consultation is now open to all stakeholders.

Both Trusts are now working together to ensure that:

  • A merger is the right action to take for the children and young people, staff, and communities of each Trust
  • All people affected by a merger (stakeholders) have an opportunity to express their views on the proposal
  • The benefits of a merger are maximised
  • The requirements of the Department for Education and Regional Director are met

A Merger Steering Committee made up of Trustees and senior staff from both Trusts is planning and overseeing the delivery of this work.

The consultation process provides opportunities for staff, families, and community members to meet with the leadership of both Trusts to learn more about the proposed merger and to ask questions. Additionally, stakeholders are able to submit a Merger Consultation Form and information is publicly available on both Trusts’ websites.
