EEF ’Special Educational Needs in Mainstream Schools’ Report

This session will consider the 5 key recommendations for leaders within the EEF SEND Report: 

1. Create a positive and supportive environment for all pupils
2. Build an ongoing, holistic understanding of your pupils
3. Ensure all pupils have access to High Quality Teaching (HQT)
4. Complement HQT with carefully selected interventions
5. Work effectively with Teaching Assistants 

Suggestions to support SEND leaders to implement the recommendations will be discussed and practical strategies shared. Leaders will have an opportunity to audit their current practice against the recommendations and consider next steps.
